According to an official announcement from Etihad Airways, the airline has launched a strategic codeshare partnership with Air Cambodia, significantly boosting travel options between the UAE and Southeast Asia. As reported by Etihad's press office and covered by outlets like Arabian Business and Connecting Travel, this agreement allows Etihad passengers to travel from across its global network to Siem Reap on a single-ticket itinerary via Phnom Penh.
Per the official statement from Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, Cambodia is a "growing market" with increasing demand, and this partnership allows the airline to offer "seamless access between Siem Reap and the wider region." Supporting this, Eng Molina, Chief Commercial Officer at Air Cambodia, noted that the deal strengthens the connection to Abu Dhabi as a "key global aviation hub" for Cambodian travelers.
The news, originally released on April 28, 2026, also highlights that the partnership extends beyond Cambodia. According to the airline's official newsroom, an interline agreement will also allow Etihad guests to access Air Cambodia’s network in Vietnam, including destinations like Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Phu Quoc. This development builds on Etihad’s existing daily service to Phnom Penh, which, according to company records, was first launched in October 2025.
