According to an official company announcement shared via social media, the airline group kicked off its milestone weekend on Saturday, August 1, by transporting 248,922 passengers—establishing what was briefly a brand-new single-day operational record for the carrier's mainline operations.

However, that historic achievement was quickly surpassed the following day. On Sunday, August 2, the broader airline group reached unprecedented heights by carrying a total of 352,715 passengers across its network. This total was comprised of 248,318 travelers flying on Turkish Airlines mainline flights and 104,397 passengers flying via its low-cost subsidiary, AJet. Flight operations saw a parallel surge: Turkish Airlines and AJet collectively operated 1,970 passenger flights on Sunday, split between 1,388 mainline departures and 582 AJet services. When factoring in freight operations operated by Turkish Cargo, the airline group's total daily flight count climbed to an all-time high of 2,034 flights.

This landmark weekend reflects a broader growth trend across Turkish Airlines' global footprint. During the first half of 2026 (January–June), the airline carried 44.5 million passengers, representing a 5.5% increase year-over-year. Over this six-month period, international passenger traffic expanded by 6.6% to reach 29.4 million travelers, while domestic traffic grew by 3.6% to 15.1 million. The carrier's overall passenger load factor rose by 2.3 percentage points to 83.7%, while cargo and mail volume posted a sharp 13.3% gain, reaching nearly 1.16 million tons.
