TEL AVIV, October 13, 2026 — A Delta Air Lines flight from New York to Tel Aviv was evacuated after landing at Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport on Tuesday morning, following an anonymous bomb threat.
The aircraft, an Airbus A330, arrived from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York at approximately 8:30 a.m. local time. Airport authorities responded to the threat by evacuating passengers and moving the aircraft to an isolated area for security inspections.
According to reports, the threat alleged that an explosive device was on board the aircraft. Security personnel carried out a detailed search of the plane before clearing it to ensure there was no immediate danger.
Security Search Finds No Explosives
Following the alert, passengers were escorted off the aircraft and into the airport terminal while security teams inspected the aircraft and surrounding area.
The Israel Airports Authority confirmed that the inspection had been completed without any unusual findings. Authorities subsequently announced that normal airport operations had resumed.
No explosives were found during the search. However, officials had not publicly identified the source of the anonymous threat or confirmed who was responsible.
The total number of passengers and crew members on board was not immediately disclosed in initial reports.
Delta’s New York–Tel Aviv Service
The incident involved Delta’s nonstop service between New York’s JFK Airport and Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv.
Delta resumed daily flights on the route on September 6, 2026, following a suspension of more than six months amid regional security concerns. The airline announced that the service would operate using its Airbus A330-900neo aircraft.
Delta has said it continues to monitor regional security conditions in coordination with aviation authorities and government agencies.
The latest incident temporarily disrupted the arrival of the affected flight, although airport operations returned to normal after security checks were completed.
