KATHMANDU, Dec 29: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has started the process of exchanging the engine of its Airbus A320 aircraft. After successful negotiations with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), the two parties signed an MOU to resolve long-standing disputes regarding maintenance and lease costs.

 

The aircraft departed for Israel via Dubai on December 28 and reached Tel Aviv on December 29, 2025. According to NAC, the engine will be installed and the aircraft will return to Kathmandu by the second week of January 2026. Executive Director Amritman Shrestha credited the breakthrough to the persistent efforts of the corporation’s senior management.
