Nepal’s Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Khadak Raj Paudel, has said that the government cannot single-handedly resolve the long-standing challenges facing the country’s aviation industry, stressing that meaningful reform requires the cooperation of all stakeholders.  

Speaking on the state of Nepal’s aviation sector, the minister emphasized that airlines, aviation authorities, regulators, private operators, and international partners must work together to improve safety standards, governance, and infrastructure. He noted that sustainable progress depends on collective commitment rather than government action alone.  

The minister also highlighted the importance of separating Nepal’s aviation regulator from its service provider—one of the key reforms sought by international aviation organizations. The reform is considered crucial for strengthening oversight, improving aviation safety, and eventually helping Nepal’s airlines seek removal from the European Union’s air safety blacklist.  

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing aviation reforms but acknowledged that lasting improvements will require coordination, transparency, and support from all sectors of the aviation industry.
