Doha, Qatar —According to an official announcement from Qatar Airways, the airline will officially resume daily, direct passenger flights between its primary hub at Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) starting August 1, 2026. This reinstated service will take over the route previously handled by its oneworld alliance partner, American Airlines. By returning to Pennsylvania’s largest city, Qatar Airways expands its robust North American network to 14 key destinations for the peak summer travel season, joining a roster that includes Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Montreal, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, and Washington D.C.
Qatar Airways states that the year-round service will be operated using its state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Passengers booking this route will have access to premium onboard features, including the airline's award-winning Qsuite business class and high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi connectivity. The scheduled daily operations will feature flight QR727 departing Doha at 08:00 and arriving in Philadelphia at 15:05 local time. The return leg, flight QR728, is scheduled to depart Philadelphia daily at 21:30, arriving back in Doha at 17:00 the following day.
The airline emphasizes that the resumption of this route is designed to provide seamless international and domestic connectivity for global travelers. Outbound passengers traveling from Philadelphia will gain streamlined access to more than 160 destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East via Doha. Conversely, arriving passengers in Philadelphia can leverage Qatar Airways’ strategic partnership with American Airlines to easily connect to an extensive network of domestic destinations across the United States. Official bookings for the daily service are now open to the public through the Qatar Airways website and mobile app
