The Government of Canada has updated its travel advisory for Indonesia, introducing important information for Canadian travellers planning to visit Bali, Jakarta, and other destinations across the country.
According to the updated advisory, all travellers must complete the All Indonesia Declaration Form within 72 hours before arrival in Indonesia. Upon submission, travellers will receive a QR code, which must be presented to immigration and customs authorities upon arrival.
The Directorate General of Immigration has confirmed that the declaration is mandatory for both Indonesian citizens and foreign visitors. The form requires personal information, passport details, contact information, travel itinerary, transportation details, and accommodation address. Group travellers can submit information for up to 10 passengers using a single form.
To streamline the process, Indonesian authorities have also made the All Indonesia App available for both Android and iOS users.
Canadian authorities further advise travellers to carry proof of onward or return travel, as well as evidence of sufficient financial resources for their stay, as these documents may be requested by Indonesian customs officials.
Indonesia continues to be one of Southeast Asia’s most popular tourism destinations. According to BPS-Statistics Indonesia, the country welcomed more than 15 million international visitors in 2025, representing a 10.8 percent increase compared to the previous year. Nearly seven million of those visitors travelled to Bali.
Despite the strong tourism growth, the Canadian government continues to advise its citizens to exercise a high degree of caution while travelling in Indonesia due to ongoing political and social tensions and the potential threat of terrorism in certain areas.
